Areas within the Hertford Regional College web site use online forms to collect information regarding site users. All information collected by the site is governed by the Data Protection Act 1998 and as a result is only used by relevant members of staff within the college. The nature of the information and the area of the site that it is obtained from will determine who will have access to it. Information regarding restricted access areas of the site will be used and accessed by the college's Web Administrator, Network Manager and Senior Management Team (SMT).

All other information gathered may be accessed by members of the college's administration department. This type of information is generally collected for marketing purposes so that additional information or site updates can be sent out to interested parties.

Only relevant information is gathered by the Hertford Regional College web site and is applicable to the part of the site from which the information was gathered. This information will always consist of basic contact details such as full name, address, telephone number and email address. However some areas of the site do require more information to be given: these areas will include instructions where appropriate.
