Childcare

Squirrels Day Nursery

We believe that whatever your personal situation, you should have access to the opportunities HRC provides. Squirrels Day Nursery, based at our Broxbourne Campus, provides care for children aged three monthsto five years. Fees are charged at an hourly rate, with subsidies available for College students.

Open: Monday – Friday 8am to 6pm
01992 448593

Places at Squirrels are limited, so book your child’s place as soon as possible.

Are you eligible for financial support for childcare?

Students aged over 20 with an annual household income of less than £30,000 (subject to annual review) can receive financial support towards the cost of childcare at Squirrels or at any type of formally registered childcare, including nursery, crèche, “out of school” clubs and child minders.

If you are 20 or over and have one or more children, the Free Childcare for Training and Learning for Work scheme could help with the cost of childcare while you learn or train. The scheme is aimed at out-of-work parents with a partner who’s in work. If you're looking to do a course that's classed as developing new skills that could lead to a job, it could provide up to £175 per child per week to help with childcare costs.

Contact us for more information about financial support for childcare.
