Full-time Course Fees
- You can study a full-time course for free if you are under 19
years of age on 31st August 2010.
- If you are over 19 years of age
our full-time courses are £750.
All students must pay for additional
materials needed for your course such as books, kit and uniform. This
includes trips, visits and overnight stays.
If you are a full-time student who has, or are
dependent on someone who has, an annual household income below £20,000*
it may be possible to gain help with meeting your additional course
costs/materials.

Part-time Course Fees
All part-time fees are shown with each
course and include a registration fee, tuition fee, department charge
and in most cases an examination fee. Books are not usually included in
the fee. You will be advised at or before the first class meeting of any
books or equipment you will need. These may also be listed in
additional costs on the relevant course page. The fees stated are for
one year only.

Benefit fees
Are you eligible for help with your tuition fees? In
certain circumstances we will pay your tuition fees for you. You will
only need to contribute the remaining amount which is shown as the
“Benefit” fee.
If you are on any of the following benefits you or
your unwaged dependents can claim a fee concession:
- Income Support
- Housing / Council Tax Benefit
- Working Tax Credit with household income less than £15,276* p.a
- Guaranteed Pension Credit
- Income Based Employment Support Allowance
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
- Contribution Based Job Seekers Allowance
Unwaged
dependents of holders of either Income Based or Contributions Based Job
Seekers Allowance are also able to claim a fee concession.
If you wish to claim the benefit fee,
ensure you tick the fee remission box for the benefit fee - this will
allow you to apply but not pay. Alternatively download and
complete a copy of our application form and bring this along with your
current tax credit award notice (TC602) to one of our Information
Centres. The College is obliged to retain a copy of that proof.

If you are over 19 and do not have a Level 2 qualification or are
19-25 and do not have a Level 3 qualification you may be entitled to
study for free.

week
Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
If you’re 16, 17 or 18
you could be entitled to up to £30 every week during term-time. All you
have to do is make sure you attend your lessons and put in the effort.
Adult Learning Grant (ALG)
If you are over 19 with and your
income is no more than £19,513* (£30,810* combined incomes for those
with live-in partners) you could be entitled to up to £30 a week if you
are studying for your first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
Applications should be made before the beginning of the course.

Want to get paid while you learn?
Army Further Education (FE) Bursary Scheme
The Army has
teamed up with Hertford Regional College to offer the Army Bursary
Scheme for many full-time vocational courses at Level 2 and Level 3.
If
you are interested in joining the Army, and studying at HRC, you could
be eligible to earn up to £5000 cash award to help you through your
studies; £1000 for each year you spend at college (maximum 4 years) and
£1000 on completion of the first stage of Army training. You will then
get to start your Army career, building your future.

Save on transport costs
Savings are available for HRC
students on Hertfordshire buses and trains
You can get half price bus
fares and save a 1/3 on weekly or season train tickets with the
SaverCard and Student TrainCard. These can be used on all services
within Hertfordshire and some selected destinations outside the County.
Both cards cost £10 and last for one academic year and you must be aged
16-18 and enrolled on a full time course. To start saving in September

Arriva
Bus Services offers a saving scheme for those of you that don’t live in
Hertfordshire and you’re total household income is less than £15,276*.
