Don’t panic. We’re here to help you make the right decision. Many people will already know which path they want to take or what qualifications they need.


Others of you may be uncertain which level you should study at, what subject area might be best suited to you or even if you should study full-time or part-time.

Is full-time study for me?

Our full-time courses offer more than just learning in a lesson – you will learn in and outside of the classroom, be it in practical sessions to support knowledge and theory, trips/visits to relevant exhibitions or talks from visiting speakers relevant to your industry. Our full-time courses range from Art and Design to Access courses for HE (Higher Education), we cover areas across a number of sectors from Construction to Childcare.

Is part-time study for me?

Our part-time courses include everything from professional qualifications, to Access courses for HE (Higher Education), improving your English and Maths skills, or simply taking a course for fun! From a Saturday Taster course in Business start-up or Beauty to a professional qualification in Accounting – all of our courses are taught by experienced tutors who will support you in your studies.

Is a degree level course right for me?

At HRC you can study a Foundation or Extended degree, they allow you to gain a nationally recognised degree qualification at college as opposed to university. They are stand-alone qualifications and are highly valued by employers. If you want to achieve a full BA or BSc, you can do so by completing an additional year’s study at university.

Is an Apprenticeship right for me?

Apprentices learn on the job, building up knowledge and skills gaining qualifications and earning money all at the same time. They are available across a number of sectors from carpentry to catering.
