The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Marketing is 360 guided learning hours and is equivalent in size to one A Level.  It may be taken alongside other Level 3 vocational qualifications and/or A Levels as part of a two-year, full-time study programme.  It could, for example, be taken alongside a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production, Travel and Tourism, IT, Photography or Graphics, broadening your potential career options.

What will I be doing?

Learners taking this qualification will study six mandatory units:

  • Careers in Marketing
  • Marketing Principles (externally assessed)
  • Customer Communications
  • Applying Digital Marketing
  • Branding Products and Services
  • Generating Customer Loyalty

  • Participation in charity and fundraising events within the college

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is continuous throughout the one-year course. You will be assessed on different assignments, tasks and a written synoptic exam

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE's including a minimum of Grade 3 maths and Grade 4 English (language or literature) or Grade 4 maths and Grade 3 English (language or literature)
or
Successful completion of a Level 2 Business qualification with an overall grade of Merit or above, plus a minimum of GCSE maths Grade 3 and English (language or literature) at Grade 4 or above.

Learners taking this course will have the opportunity to study GCSE maths or English and resit in November or June. 

This qualification does not expect students to have prior Marketing knowledge.

You will be required to come to college with an attitude that reflects your aspiration to develop and maintain a professional approach to your studies and improve your employability skills.

Fee Information

Free to those under 19 on 31st August 2022.

If you are 19 or over on 31 August 2022, have been a permanent resident in the EU for the last 3 years and are a fee paying new entrant you will pay approximately £2000 tuition fee for a Level 2 qualification and approximately £5500 for a Level 3 qualification.

Fee paying students continuing on the same course for a second year will be charged £2000 tuition fee for a Level 2 qualification and approximately £3500 for a Level 3 qualification.

If you are aged 19-23 you may also be entitled to free training if the course you choose is your first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification. You may also be required to pay an administration fee, exam fees, book fee and an Awarding Body Registration fee if applicable.

Additional Costs

You may also be required to pay a materials fee of approximately £50.
