The Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and Business is suitable for a wide range of students who are looking to expand their accounting skills. It will offer the opportunity to gain the skills demanded by employers, while achieving a nationally recognised qualification that could ultimately lead to the full AAT Accounting Qualification and AAT membership.

What will I be doing?
The Level 2 Certificate in Accounting & Business is made up of eight mandatory units:
- Processing bookkeeping transactions
- Control accounts, journals and the banking system
- Elements of costing
- Work effectively in accounting and finance
- Using accounting software
You will have the opportunity to take part in additional activities including work experience, careers advice, visiting speakers and appropriate outside visits.
How will I be assessed?
All units are assessed by computer-based assessments under exam conditions and controlled by the exams department. For those that are not confident with exams, this is NOT the course for you.
If you are aged between 16-23 you must have a GCSE Grade 4 in English Language or Literature and maths or Level 1 AAT
During interview you may be assessed for written English and maths. This is to ensure that you can work under pressure as all units are examined, and that your English is of a standard to meet AAT requirements

What do I need to bring?
Relevant books must be purchased; these cost approximately £100. Your tutor will be able to advise you further.

If you are 19 or over on 31 August 2019, have been a permanent resident in the EU for the last 3 years and are a fee-paying new entrant, you will pay approximately £2000 tuition fee for a Level 2 qualification and approximately £5500 for a Level 3 qualification (these were the fees for 2018/19 and could be subject to change for 2019/20).
Fee-paying students continuing on the same course for a second year will be charged £2000 tuition fee for a Level 2 qualification and approximately £8500 for a Level 3 qualification (these were the fees for 2018/19 and could be subject to change for 2019/20).
If you are aged 19-23 you may also be entitled to free training if the course you choose is your first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
These fees are indicative of the 2019-20 costs and may be subject to change
