HND in Animation & Motion Graphics offers you a chance to create any world you desire. The course concentrates on the main principles of animation and graphics centred around illustration, typography, character creation, visual effects, 2D digital work, concept art and app development.
You will use a wide range of software from the Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D and Unity. This software combined will allow you to be proficient in 2D, VFX, 3D Animation and Motion Graphics.

Entry into the Animation & Motion Graphic world is always competitive and there are particular routes which may be suitable for graduates of this course. It may be possible to 'top-up' to an honours degree at another Higher Education Institution. Progression routes: Employment/top up degree.

Our goal is to provide you with the focused knowledge and understanding of Animation & Motion Graphics needed to qualify for entry level industry positions as Motion Graphics Animators, 2D-3D Animators, Illustrators, Storyline Writers, App Developers, Cartoonists, Character Riggers, VFX Producers, Concept Artists, Digital Painters, etc.

You will have the opportunity to develop your critical appreciation of professional Animation & Motion Graphics. There may be opportunities to attend animation/game conventions and exhibitions in the United Kingdom or further afield to places such as Bilbao, Valencia, Praque or Iceland. These visits are not mandatory and the costs will be additional to the course fee. Students will be given sufficient notice to budget for these events.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through course work alone. Grades are awarded for evidence of professionalism, research, technical skills, analysis and communication skills. Work is graded through a Pass, Merit and Distinction framework.
48 UCAS points from an appropriate level 3 qualification (UAL/ BTEC Extended Diploma or 2 A levels) and GCSE minimum grade C in English and Maths or equivalent. Applicants who can demonstrate previous relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis.
What do I need to bring?
You will need a branded digital drawing pad in order to begin the course. As a student you will be able to download some applications for free, such as Cinema 4D, Autodesk applications, Blender and Meshroom.
