This course is suitable for beginners to floristry and is designed to give you the opportunity to explore your creative side using practical floristry skills and techniques, covering all aspects of floristry i.e. flower arrangements, wedding and funeral work using foam and wiring techniques. (N.B this is not a flower arranging course). Each week covers a different type of floral design, dependent on flower availability and seasonal themes. For example;
Buttonholes, fresh flower arrangement, arrangement with fruit and vegetables, candle arrangement, Christmas swag, Christmas wreath, wedding bouquet.
What do I need to bring?
A tool box will be required with floristry scissors, knife, tape and wires. This will be organised and discussed on the first evening. A hand out with a full list of designs and flowers needed over the 10 weeks will also be provided on the first evening. The cost of these materials will range approx between £2 to £10.
Advice will always be provided for sourcing the correct flowers and sundries.
£150 for each of the 10 week blocks at Ware.
Our Broxbourne course will run for 8 weeks in term 1 and costs £120.
For academic year 18/19 this course runs 19:00 - 21:30 on a Tuesday evening at our Ware Campus and on a Thursday evening at our Broxbourne Campus. Please note our Ware course is now full for the rest of this academic year.
