This course aims to improve your basic cookery skills and knowledge . if you are considering a career in the catering industry this course is a first step towards acheiving this . Alternatively you may wish to improve your abilities to host dinner parties or larger family events at home . This course will enable you to produce dishes for all occasions including family meals and entertaining. You will need to bring your own ingredients to the class.

What will I be doing?
Foe the first three weeks of the course you wil be learning about starter / snack dishes . The following four weeks will be dedicated to main courses and the last three weeks to desserts. you will also cover basic knife skills , different cooking techniques (including pastry ) as well as basic food hygeine and safety .
How will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment but the Tutor will be able to provide individual feedback on a weekly basis if desired .

What do I need to bring?
Purchase your own ingredients for dishes, to be will be provided by email from your tutor . You will need to bring an apron and a selection of knives if you have any . To comply with Health and Safety regulations we ask that long hair is tied back and jewellery such as bracelets and rings are removed .
