This course aims to improve your basic cookery skills and knowledge. If you are considering a career in the catering industry this course is a first step towards achieving this. Alternatively you may wish to improve your abilities to host dinner parties or larger family events at home.

What will I be doing?
For the first three weeks of the course you will be learning about starter/snack dishes. The following four weeks will be dedicated to main courses and the last three weeks will be desserts. You will also cover basic knife skills, different cooking techniques (including pastry) as well as basic food hygiene and safety.
How will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment but the Tutor will be able to provide individual feedback on a weekly basis.

What do I need to bring?
You will need to purchase ingredients for each session (your Tutor will advise what you will need to bring via an email to you in the first instance)You will also need an apron and a selection of knives if you have them available to bring with you.To comply with health and safety regulations we ask that long hair is tied back and jewellery such as bracelets and rings are removed.
