The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with and care for children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.

This is the start of your journey in becoming an Early Years Educator. If you are interested in working with children in the early years, then this level 3 qualification will support your development into the childcare sector.

On completion of this qualification you could progress on to employment as a:

  • Room Leader
  • Nanny
  • Childminder
  • Key Worker

What can I do next?

You will be able to progress on to the Foundation Degree in Early Years or enter employment.

What will I be doing?

Through attending College one evening per week, you will undertake units relating to the following mandatory themes:

  • Health and well being
  • Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
  • Play, development and learning for school readiness
  • Professional development

Added Extras

You will be assigned your own personal Assessor who will support you with gathering evidence to support the assessment of your work.

How will I be assessed?

To gain this qualification you will need to achieve a Pass in ALL units. All units in this qualification are mandatory. Units will be internally assessed. There will be some innovative non-mandatory tasks for all but one of the units. The 'Longitudinal study' will be a mandatory task which will be set and internally assessed. You will need to show competence in a 'real work' environment

Entry requirements?

Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on a practical placement as an important part of the assessment process involves evaluating skills in real working situations. 350 hours across the age ranges is recommended in settings for children aged 0-5yrs.

You may want to purchase the course book CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) (VRQ).

Fee Information

The fee for this course is £2882.00

If you are aged 19-23 you may also be entitled to free training if the course you choose is your first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification. You may also be required to pay an administration fee, exam fees, kit fee and an Awarding Body Registration fee if applicable.
