The training for this course is delivered over 36 weeks x 2 days per week at the CK Assessment and Training Centre on the Nazeing Glassworks Industrial Estate (half a mile from Broxbourne Station).
You will also have to attend the Centre to finalise all the assignment tasks associated with certification. This will include the 5-day practical assessment which your tutors will arrange with you nearer the end of the course. Also, as with all level 3 plumbing courses a level 2 in maths must be achieved .
What can I do next?
On successful completion of the course you will have developed the skills required to seek employment in the plumbing industry. If in employment you can progress on to the City & Guilds NVQ (subject to meeting the criteria).
What will I be doing?
You will follow an integrated programme at CK Assessment and Training in Nazeing covering the
Health and Safety
Planning and design of plumbing systems
Cold and Hot Water Systems
Central Heating and gas
Sanitation and Drainage
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is continuous throughout the course and includes practical assessments, written and oral tests and assignments.
A keen interest in following a career in plumbing
A good level of literacy and numeracy i.e. Grade C or above in English and maths
You must be able to get to the Centre in Nazeing by 8:00am for the start of your day
All students must have completed a successful initial assessment and interview
All students MUST have achieved the City & Guilds level 2 in Plumbing
What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring your own overalls and safety footwear.

If you are 19 or over on 31st August 2021, have been a permanent resident in the EU for the last 3 years and are a fee paying new entrant you will pay approx. £2000 tuition fee for a Level 2 qualification and approx. £5500 for a Level 3 qualification (these were the fees for 2020/21 and could be subject to change for 2021/22).
Fee paying students continuing on the same course for a second year will be charged £2000 tuition fee for a Level 2 qualification and approx. £3500 for a Level 3 qualification (these were the fees for 2020/21 and could be subject to change for 2021/22).
If you are aged 19-23 you may also be entitled to free training if the course you choose is your first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification. You may also be required to pay an administration fee, exam fees, kit fee and an Awarding Body Registration fee if applicable.
