Considering changing your career, learning something new to suit your personal circumstaces or fit alongside existing commitments? 

This 9 week course, 6 hours per week over two evenings, will enable learners (aged 18+) to gain the knowledge and experience needed to offer a range of nail services to clients.

What will I be doing?

This course will give you the skills and knowledge required to:

  • provide safe and effective methods of working when providing manicure services.
  • be able to consult, plan and prepare for treatments with clients.
  • maintain effective health, safety and hygiene working practices throughout treatments
  • carry out manicure services.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a combination of short assignments, tests, and practical assessments of your work. There will be a short external examination at the end of the course.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to attend in a Salon tunic/black top and black trousers/leggings.

A kit is not required for this courses but is recommended, to allow you to practice at home.  Your tutor will discuss this with you at the start of the course. 

Fee Information

If you are a Home student aged 19 or over on the 31st August 2023, you may be liable to pay a tuition fee of £150 for this course.

If you are aged 19-23 you may be entitled to free tuition if the course you choose is on a government-approved list and the qualification is your first Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.

If you are aged over 24 and you have not achieved a full Level 3 qualification you may be entitled to free tuition if the qualification is listed on the Government Free courses for jobs list.  Similarly, if you already hold a Level 3 qualification (or above) and meet the Adult Education Budgets definition of unemployed or are in receipt of low wage, you may also be entitled to free tuition.

You may also be required to pay an administration fee, exam fees, kit fee and an Awarding Body Registration fee if applicable.
