This is an intermediate course; designed for students who have studied Spanish for Beginners. The course will focus on further developing skills in reading, writing and speaking in Spanish so you can communicate with confidence on everyday issues such as food/drink, travel, weather, accommodation, time, colours, numbers, dates and describing people and places. There will be a greater emphasis on learning the different tenses in Spanish so you can communicate in past, present and future tense. The course takes place for one evening a week, over 30 weeks.

What will I be doing?
You will have many opportunities to read, write, speak and listen to Spanish. Your tutor will be a native Spanish speaker and will conduct the lesson in Spanish wherever possible. You will learn the correct tenses and grammar for the Spanish language and have many opportunities to develop your spoken ability in Spanish as well as your ability to read and write in Spanish.
How will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment for this course; however, you may agree some individual learning goals with your tutor and keep a learning plan to monitor your progress.
Previously studied Spanish at beginner's level. Understand the basic core skills of speaking, reading and writing Spanish.
What do I need to bring?
Enthusiasm and some time to do homework; a sense of humour and willingness to do group work. You will be expected to attend every week or notify your tutor for reason of absence. You may be at risk of withdrawal if your attendance is low.
The college will provide Spanish dictionaries and worksheet as necessary but you will be expected to buy a Spanish workbook as directed by your tutor.
