This is a beginner's course designed for people who have never studied Spanish before or may have a little knowledge of the language. The course will focus on developing core skills in reading, writing and speaking in Spanish so you can communicate on everyday issues such as food/drink, travel, weather, accommodation, time, colours, numbers, dates and describing people and places. The course takes place for one evening a week over 30 weeks.

What will I be doing?

.Developing core skills in reading, writing and speaking in Spanish so you can communicate on everyday issues such as; food/drink, travel, weather, accommodation, time, colours, numbers, dates, describing people and places. Spanish for Beginners will focus on the present tenses.

How will I be assessed?

There is no formal assessment for this course; however you may agree some individual learning goals with your tutor and keep a learning plan to monitor your progress.

Entry requirements

Spanish for Beginners is designed for people who are new to the Spanish language or may have a little knowledge of the language which requires some improvement. This is 16-week course that will introduce you to the language and provide you with the confidence to progress to the next level.

What do I need to bring?

Enthusiasm and some time to do homework; a sense of humour and willingness to do group work and take part in role plays to develop your speaking and listening skills. You will be expected to attend every week or notify your tutor for reason of absence, failure to do so could result in you being withdrawn.

The college will provide Spanish dictionaries and worksheets as necessary but you will be expected to buy a Spanish work book as directed by your tutor.

Spanish for Beginners - £195 Please note, refunds cannot be issued on the grounds of personal reasons or personal change in circumstances, once the course has commenced.
