Improve your French is designed as a progression route from the beginners course and for learners who already have a basic understanding and knowledge of the language. This is a 15-week course that compliments itself to the beginners course.

After this course you may wish to progress to a GCSE or French proficiency class.

What will I be doing?
Improve your French will develop your ability further with a focus on past and future tenses. You will have lots of opportunities on both courses to develop your spoken ability in French as well as learning how to read and write in French.
Added Extras
You will have the opportunity to do some culturally interesting activities in addition to your course. For example, you may choose to go to a French restaurant or film.
How will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment for this course; however you may agree some individual learning goals with your tutor and keep a learning plan to monitor your progress.
Entry requirements
Improve your French: Completion of the beginners course or prior knowledge/understanding of the French language beyond beginners level.
What do I need to bring?
Enthusiasm and some time to do homework; a sense of humour and willingness to do group work and take part in role plays to develop your speaking and listening skills. You will be expected to attend every week or notify your tutor for reason of absence, failure to do so could result in you being withdrawn.
The college will provide French dictionaries and worksheets as necessary, but you will be expected to buy a French workbook as directed by your tutor.
