The event was organised to say a hearty “thank you!” to valued employers and members of the community who continue to offer Service Industries students work experience placements as part of their study programmes, or who have come into contact with students during their placements.

Hosted in the Broxbourne campus Sports Hall, fun activities included face painting, hair braiding, manicures, games and children’s play areas. Afternoon tea and sweet treats were also never far away, all provided by the fabulously talented Professional Cookery students.

Karen Kingsmill of Princess Alexandra Hospital, who offers work experience to Service Industries students, was delighted to attend the event, saying that “it was a lovely idea and it was great to meet all of the students (who) were a credit to the college”.

In addition, Carla Spackman of Motts Farm added “we had a lovely afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely spread laid on and the activities and demonstrations. The students were all very polite and friendly and a real credit to the College.  I am sure the College are very proud of them all”.
