HRC’s dedicated facilities for Childcare and Health & Social Care immerse you in the industry to truly develop your practical skills. Our care suite mirrors a care home and hospital room and includes equipment used daily for patients, all of which combines to give you hands-on experience.
Our modern childcare suite has been designed to replicate a real life nursery with classrooms for children, complete with play and reading areas, outdoor facilities and teaching areas.
Work Experience
The team of teaching professionals have a huge wealth of experience in looking after children, young people and adults professionally and can share their industry expertise with you. They are also dedicated to enriching their students’ time at the college and they organise many activities throughout the academic year. Most recently, these have included university lecturer-led workshops on NHS career opportunities and real life scenario evenings with the local police, fire and ambulance crews. Work experience placements are also offered by a variety of facilities including schools, nurseries, elderly and residential homes and healthcare clinics. HRC is also pleased to offer placements in five local NHS hospitals in areas such as A&E and paediatrics.
