What's On

At Hertford Regional College we are so proud of our hard-working Apprenticeships and so we love to shout about how amazing they all are. Our National Apprenticeship Week features five days of jam-packed activity promoting the best of Apprenticeships. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ll be up to…

Running Throughout the Week

Apprenticeship Council

We want to know exactly what our Apprentices think about studying and working with us. What do they love, and what could we improve? So running every day from the 14th-18th March, we’ll be hosting an Apprenticeship Council where our Apprentices can share their opinions over a free lunch.

Here’s where to go and when if you want to get involved:

Monday 14th, 12.15-1.15pm – student seating area on Level 4 (Brox)
Tuesday 15th, 12.15-1.15pm – student seating area on Level 4 (Brox)
Wednesday 16th, 1.15-2.15pm – student seating area on Level 4 (Brox)
Thursday 17th, 12.15-1.15pm – student seating area on Level 4 (Brox)
Friday 18th, 12-1pm – WW 301 (Ware)

Monday 14th March
Monday sees the return of our ever-popular annual Apprentice hairdressing competition at our Inspires Hair & Beauty Salon in Ware. The competition is a great opportunity for the Apprentices to showcase their talents to a panel of judges and for potential employers to see up and coming hair stylists in the making.

Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th March
On Tuesday and Wednesday we will be joined by three Hertfordshire Mercury journalists who have volunteered to become an Apprentice for the day! Tackling Motor Vehicle, Engineering and Catering tasks will be a challenge for these three as they step into the shoes of an HRC Apprentice.

Wednesday sees a selection of interactive sessions taking place as part of the Hertford Apprenticeship Awareness Day (10am-2pm), all of which are open to  18-24 year olds in the local area. Friday 18th March
National Apprenticeship Week comes to a close at HRC with the topics of futures and football. The morning sees a City & Guilds presentation on the changing nature and future of Apprenticeships, while the afternoon comes to a close with a ‘Kickathon’ hosted by the Tottenham Hotspur Football Academy learners who will be out to prove who’s got the skills to beat the competition.
