To all students who access inclusive learning at Millbrook building in Hertford Regional College, Ware Campus.
Dear Students and Parents/Carers,
As you are aware, we have now been instructed to close the College to the majority of our students until further notice. For those of you who we have already been in contact with and have not made the decision to stay at home due to underlying health conditions; College (Millbrook Building) will be open as usual.
We want to reassure you all during this challenging period that we remain committed to helping you to continue to make good progress in your studies and to complete your work wherever possible in line with assessment deadlines. As of Monday 23rd March, we will be providing online learning resources for you either via email from your personal tutor or the college Moodle elearning site in support of this. For some of you this will be sent to your parent / carer if that is the usual method of communication between college and home.
We would strongly encourage that our learners access their timetabled sessions remotely (including English and Maths if you taking these subjects) as directed by your tutors. Your engagement with these on line resources will be monitored to support you in successfully completing your studies. Some of you will be required to submit your work via Moodle or email for assessment, again as directed by your tutors. If you have any concerns about how to access Moodle please contact your tutor and they will advise you further.
For the vast majority of you, all of our normal ways of working including coming to college and attending classes will be changing as of today to this online model, but a small number of you will continue to attend as we have been asked to provide access to the college for you by the government. Your parents/carers will know all about this and you may have been spoken to already by your college tutor if you are one of these learners. Everyone else should stay at home please.
We will be in regular contact with you, providing feedback on your work and discussing how you are engaging with the learning resources that you are accessing. It’s important that you continue to commit to your learning to secure a positive outcome this academic year to secure a successful destination for you in the years to come.
It is also important that you and your parents/carers continue to access the college website for up to date information on when we will be fully operational again and resume our teaching and learning as usual.
Please note that wider College support services will continue to be offered. Please refer to our website for contact details for the following teams:
