The T Level Technical Qualification in Science at Hertford Regional College, Broxbourne Campus, offers a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required for a successful career in the field of science. uccessful completion of the T Level Technical Qualification in Science opens up a variety of progression pathways, including: Higher Education: Progression to university-level study in science-related disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Environmental Science.Apprenticeships: Opportunities to pursue apprenticeships in various scientific fields, gaining further practical experience while earning a wage.

What will I be doing?

Whilst in the classroom and the lab students will study core scientific principles and theories, alongside laboratory-based techniques whilst developing their scientific research and investigative skills. Students will also undertake a minimum of 315 hours of industry placement, providing invaluable hands-on experience in a professional scientific environment, along with the development of essential employability skills including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management.

In Science, getting outside the classroom helps you stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies. That's why we make sure our students do just that, taking part in trips, events, conferences and competitions.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will be through a combination of written exams, an employer set project, synoptic assignments and the successful completion of the industry placement.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English, Mathematics, and Science.Alternatively, equivalent qualifications such as Level 2 Diploma in Applied Science.
