With professional dance studios, a recording and TV studio, plus tutors with industry experience, you'll learn the skills of the trade in preparation for your career. Our 140-seat performance theatre, will allow you to showcase your talents with the help of the latest lighting and sound technology.

What can I do next?
You will have the technical skills in performance and devising to make a successful application to higher education courses such as our own HND in Performing and Production Arts or Foundation Degree and BA Hons Degree at universities and/or private establishments. Previous learners have successfully applied for Middlesex, St Mary's, Bedfordshire, Bath Spa, Leeds, South Bank, Stella Mann, Chichester and Birmingham to name a few. You will have enhanced skills to support undertaking successful auditions in the industry.
What will I be doing?
You will participate in technique classes that will develop and enhance your skills in a variety of areas such as acting, vocal technique, script writing, physical theatre, ballet, contemporary and choreography. You will learn through practical and theoretical workshops focusing on different styles of performance and practitioners such as Stanislavski, Artaud, Frantic, Graham, Cunningham, Release
You will gain a greater understanding of the industry allowing you to experience projects such as Theatre in Education, exploring different stimuli, using multi-media in live performance, preparing dance solos and monologues for progression and experience acting to camera. You will also have the opportunity to experience the production aspects of producing a performance such as taking on the role as a director, choreographer, sound designer, light designer, costume designer and learning the importance of health and safety

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through a mixture of practical performances and course work which will consist of research, context, reflective journey logs and evaluating yourself and others.
Entry requirements
To take on this course you will need:
- 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above or a Level 2 at Merit level
- To attend an interview/ creative workshop to assess your skills and interests

What do I need to bring?
There is a small cost for essential course equipment, and for optional trips that take place during the year. The cost for equipment is not expected to exceed £90, and financial support is available if required.
Fee Information
Free to Home students under 19 on 31st August 2023.
If you are a Home student aged 19 or over on the 31st August 2023, you may be liable to pay approximately £2,500 tuition fee for a Level 2 qualification and approximately £5,000 for a Level 3 qualification (these were the tuition fees for 2022/2023 and could be subject to change for 2023/2024).
If you are aged 19-23 you may also be entitled to free tuition if the course you choose is on a government-approved list and the qualification is your first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
If you are aged over 24 and you have not achieved a full Level 3 qualification you may be entitled to free tuition if the qualification is listed on the Government Free courses for jobs list. Similarly, if you already hold a Level 3 qualification (or above) and meet the Adult Education Budgets definition of unemployed or are in receipt of low wage, you may also be entitled to free tuition.
You may also be required to pay an administration fee, exam fees, kit fee and an Awarding Body Registration fee if applicable.
These fees are indicative of the 2024-25 costs and may be subject to change
