This course will help develop learners basic watercolour techniques, composition and colour mixing skills, through a series of projects. In addition, the use of media such as pen, pastel and gouache will be combined with watercolour for more challenging projects.
What will I be doing?
The course is a structured programme of projects lasting one or two weeks. Learners will work from either observation or photographic reference on a range of subjects including landscape, portrait, natural form and still life. Learners will be introduced to the sessions with a demonstration covering an element of the subject, before working independently, with one to one discussion and demonstration as required.
There are no formal entry requirements however, completion of a beginners class is recommended.
What do I need to bring?
A detailed list of materials will be provided on the first session. Learners will need to purchase a basic range of watercolours, a palette, brushes, water pot, 2B pencil, putty rubber, kitchen paper and 16" x 12", 140lb watercolour pad. Please bring any materials that you may have to the first session.
£100 for each block of 10 weeks.
These fees are indicative of the 2019-20 costs and may be subject to change
This class runs on a Tuesday evening, 19:30 - 21:30, at Sele School, Hertford
"I am one of your part time students attending Watercolour classes on Tuesday Evenings at Sele School, last night I attended the Art Exhibition in the Gallery and thought what a wonderful idea, and a great way to show off what your teachers manage to get us students to achieve and for us as students to see other peoples work.
I brought my family along and they were all impressed at the high standard and also how wonderful the college looks.
I hope that this may be an on going event..."
